Mrs. Midgett-Brown knew that she wanted to be in a position that will motivate others and make a change in the lives of those in her community since she was a little girl. She watched how helpful her mother and father were and how it made them happy to help others. She would play doctor and teacher with her sisters all the time when she was younger. Mrs. Midgett-Brown was born in Nashville, Tennessee at Vanderbilt Hospital to Mr. James Louis Midgett, and Mrs. Margaret Emma Jean Ivory Midgett.  She is the middle child out of three girls. Mrs. Midgett-Brown attended the University of New Orleans where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Mrs. Midgett-Brown received her Master’s degree in Elementary Education and her Education Specialists degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Midgett-Brown is married to her high school sweet heart and has five children ranging in the ages of 20years old to 8 years old. Mrs. Midgett-Brown was raised in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina came in 2008 and displaced her and her family, but while in New Orleans, she taught freshman/developmental/remedial math, writing, and study skills at Louisiana Technical College in Harvey, Louisiana. She was also a tutor for the License Practical nurses at Louisiana Technical College. Mrs. Midgett-Brown has been an educator in Clayton County since August of 2008 and she has taught grades 2nd-5th while teaching in Clayton County Public Schools. Mrs. Midgett-Brown currently teaches 4th grade math and science at McGarrah Elementary School.
