Principal's Corner

Dear McGarrah Elementary School Families and Community,

Welcome to McGarrah Elementary School, where every day is an opportunity to learn with Purpose, lead with Pride, and grow with Passion.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the principal of McGarrah Elementary School. Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing every child with a safe, nurturing, and academically rigorous learning environment where students are encouraged to reach their fullest potential. We believe that every Wildcat deserves to be challenged, supported, and celebrated throughout their educational journey.

At McGarrah, we understand that student success is built on strong relationships among our students, families, staff, and community partners. Together, we create a culture where children feel valued, inspired, and empowered to become confident learners, compassionate leaders, and responsible citizens.

This school year, we proudly embrace our theme:

Purpose. Pride. Passion.

These three words represent who we are and what we strive to instill in every member of our Wildcat family.

• Purpose reminds us that every lesson, every goal, and every opportunity moves us closer to success.
• Pride encourages us to take ownership of our learning, celebrate our accomplishments, and represent McGarrah with excellence.
• Passion inspires us to approach each day with enthusiasm, perseverance, and a love for learning.

Our talented educators work collaboratively to provide engaging, standards-based instruction while meeting the unique needs of every learner through data-informed practices, meaningful interventions, and enriching experiences. Beyond academics, we are committed to developing the whole child by fostering character, leadership, creativity, and social-emotional well-being.

We encourage families to remain actively involved in your child's education. Your partnership is invaluable, and together we can ensure that every student experiences success both inside and outside the classroom. We invite you to attend school events, participate in volunteer opportunities, stay connected through our website and social media, and maintain open communication with our staff.

As a proud Title I school, we are committed to continuous improvement and excellence. We believe that with high expectations, collaboration, and unwavering support, every Wildcat can achieve at the highest levels.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We are excited to partner with you as we continue building a school community where students are inspired to dream big, work hard, and make a positive difference.

Together, we are The Wildcat Adventure: Learning with Purpose, Leading with Pride, Growing with Passion!

With Wildcat Pride,

LaKeisha M. Sims
