Meet Our Assistant Principal

Dr. Jacqueline Hunter is an educational professional with a career distinguished by her unwavering dedication to student success. Her academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (2003), a Master's in Elementary Education (2006), and a Specialist in Elementary Education (2010), all from Delta State University. Demonstrating a continuous pursuit of knowledge and leadership, she earned her Doctorate of Education in Teacher Leadership from Kennesaw State University in 2019, followed by a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Mercer University in 2025.
 

Dr. Hunter launched her teaching career at Pearman Elementary School in Cleveland, Mississippi, where her commitment to student advocacy quickly became apparent. She has championed student achievement, notably sponsoring Jr. Beta Club competition winners. Driven by a mission to share pedagogical excellence, Dr. Hunter has presented at esteemed platforms such as the University of Central Florida’s International Society for the Social Studies Conference and contributed gifted lessons for the Georgia Department of Education, impacting educators worldwide.

Currently serving as Assistant Principal at McGarrah Elementary School, Dr. Hunter inspires her team with the powerful mantra: "Teach students the way you would want someone to teach your child, nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers, and/or cousins. Each day BE THAT TEACHER!" She is highly regarded for establishing rigorous expectations for students and fostering collaborative professional relationships with staff, students, parents, and community stakeholders. Dr. Hunter consistently exemplifies leadership characterized by profound passion, steadfast loyalty, and deep commitment.
