Meet Our Assistant Principal

Dr. Hunter



Dr. Jacqueline Hunter graduated in 2003 from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and began her teaching career at Pearman Elementary School in Cleveland, Mississippi. In 2006, she earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education also from Delta State University. She taught third grade at Pearman for a total of three years before moving to Georgia in 2006. While teaching, Dr. Hunter simultaneously worked in the accounting office at the Cleveland, MS Wal-Mart, and then transferred to the Lovejoy, GA Wal-Mart upon her move. She taught third grade at River’s Edge Elementary and third grade at the former Eddie White K-8 Academy.

Enrolled in online courses, Dr. Hunter earned a Specialist degree from Delta State University in Elementary Education in 2010. She served as a Kindergarten through 5th grade Gifted Resource Teacher at Eddie White Academy, Lake Ridge Elementary, and Tara Elementary Schools. Dr. Hunter served as a Junior Beta Club Sponsor at Eddie White Academy and Lake Ridge Elementary where she sponsored a winning state vice president, a 1st place speech winner, 1st place scrapbook winners for two consecutive years, 1st place Science competition winner, and other winning categories.

Dr. Hunter has served on numerous school level committees such as the Grounds and Beautification Committee, Teacher Support and Recognition Committee, and Leadership Teams. In addition to teaching gifted and talented learners, she served as a Gifted Eligibility Team Lead and Gifted Endorsement Instructor for Clayton County Public Schools. In 2019, she earned her Doctorate of Education degree in Teacher Leadership from Kennesaw State University. She has presented at the International Society for the Social Studies Conference at the University of Central Florida and presented gifted lessons for the Georgia Department of Education. Dr. Hunter currently serves as an Assistant Principal at McGarrah Elementary School where she serves the community and leads with passion, loyalty, and fortitude.
