Welcome to Mrs. Hines Page!

I am one of the ESOL teachers at McGarrah Elementary. I have been in Clayton County Public Schools in various roles for 18 years. I can be reached through Class Dojo if you have joined our ESOL Class. I can also be reached via email kema.hines@clayton.k12.ga.us

The ESOL program is a support to English Speakers of Other Languages. ESOL teachers work collaboratively with the classroom teachers to support instruction. 

 

 

ESOL Teachers: 

·         Emphasize the receptive skills: listening and reading  

·         Teach the expressive skills: speaking and writing  

·         Use whole class, small group, and individual multi-level instructional approaches 

·         Assist classroom teachers by providing materials and suggesting strategies

·         Include parents in the instructional program 

·         Facilitate improvement in delivery of instruction through ongoing staff development

 ·         Collaborate with other school programs and community agencies
